A vacation bench of Justice KV Vishwanathan & Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia said that this situation was there quickly as well & it was not inclined to obstruct in the matter. The apex court said that these are matters related to education & it should leave the issue to the experts. This position was every time there, why should we interfere? The top court was hearing a plea against eligibility criteria of 75% marks in class 12 board exam for admission to IITs.

The counsel for the petitioners argued that the students were given exemption during Corona and those students now have more chances to clear the exam for admission in prestigious engineering institutes. The lawyer said, he has scored more than 98 per cent marks in JEE (Main). They are brilliant students. Please allow them. Counsel submitted that the candidate has secured 92% marks in JEE Mains Exam & eligible to join in JEE Advanced Exam. However, he/she will not get the admission even if he/she qualifies as having less than 75 marks in board exams.
