Latest Updated 12/04/2023: Professor Bhupal Prasad Mahato of Law College Dhanbad, located in Telipada, was beaten up by unknown students on Tuesday morning. Professor Bhupal, who lives near Chiragowda Woodland Hotel, is also the Examination Controller of the Law College. 100 meters before the college campus, four-five boys blocked their way and assaulted them. He has complained about the matter in Dhanbad police station.
Bhupal Prasad told the police that he was about to reach the main gate of the college at 9.30 am on Tuesday when four boys surrounded him. The boys asked his name. When he told his name, the boys started saying- 'What have you done...'. On this he said- 'Nothing'. On hearing this, the boys started fighting with them. His head was injured in the fight. After the fight, the boys fled from there. The professor informed the matter to the principal of the college, Kamal Kishore. College colleagues took him to the park clinic first. Bhupal Prasad was taken to SNMMCH after first aid. With the injury report, he reached Dhanbad police station and lodged an FIR against the unknown.

These days PG exams are going on. The center of the examination is also lying in the Law College. He may have been targeted by the students for being the controller of examinations. However, it is also being feared that he became a victim of the internal politics of the college. On being asked in this regard, the principal of the college, Kamal Kishore, said that an FIR has been lodged at the Dhanbad police station. Police should identify the accused and make them strict.
