27 new government nursing colleges will be opened in Uttar Pradesh (UP) latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 27/04/2023: 157 nursing colleges will be opened in the country. Of these, 27 will be opened in UP. The Union Cabinet has approved their establishment. These colleges will be established along with new government medical colleges opened in the country from the year 2014 onwards, in which B.Sc Nursing will be taught.
In the meeting of the Union Cabinet (Committee on Economic Affairs) held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rs 1570 crore has been approved for the establishment of these colleges. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that this will provide quality nursing education. With the establishment of these along with the already running medical colleges, the new colleges will get the benefit of the hospital and other resources of the medical college.
In answer to a question, he said that the more number of medical colleges the state has, the more nursing colleges it will get. Like UP will get 27, Rajasthan 23, Bihar eight and Jharkhand five nursing colleges.
