CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi said in the order that it has been noted that some schools have started their academics early.

The board said that starting the academic session earlier does not provide enough time to students for extra-curricular activities such as skill learning, moral education, health and physical education, work education and community service. All these tasks are as important as education. Therefore, the Principals and Heads of the Institutions have been instructed not to start the academic session ahead of time.

President of All India Parents Association Ashok Aggarwal said that this initiative of CBSE is welcome. It should be followed equally in every state.
