Pleasant: Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav announced in the assembly

Latest Updated 15/03/2023: Medical colleges will be opened in all the districts of the state. Deputy Chief Minister cum Health Minister Tejashwi Yadav made this announcement in the House on Tuesday. At present there are 24 medical colleges in 23 districts of the state. Out of this, nine are operational, while 15 are under construction. This announcement by the Deputy Chief Minister has paved the way for opening of new medical colleges in 15 districts. Significantly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has already announced to open medical colleges in all the districts of the state.

Tejashwi Yadav was responding to the calling attention of BJP member Dilip Singh in the Council. The questioner said that 3 national highways pass through Aurangabad. According to the Department of Transport, more than 300 people are dying every year. In such a situation, it is necessary to have a medical college. If there is a delay in opening the college, at least the trauma center should be opened. On this, the Deputy Chief Minister said that at present accident patients are treated in Sadar Hospitals in the districts. There is also a medical college in the neighboring Gaya. But, the govt is working on a plan to open new ones in districts where there are no medical colleges.


Special team will have to find land for hospitals


The Deputy Chief Minister said that land is emerging as an important problem in the construction of hospitals in the state. Especially in the lower health institutions, there are still dozens (12) who are running in community buildings or rented houses. To overcome this problem, the Health Department will form a special dedicated team. In response to Maheshwar Singh's question, the Deputy Chief Minister said that like the Road Construction Department, the idea is to form a special dedicated team in the Health Department. This team will coordinate with the districts to ensure availability of land for the hospitals.

Construction of trauma center in Rajauli soon


In view of the difficulty in getting treatment in case of an accident in the valley between Patna-Ranchi hilly area, the government will set up a trauma center in Rajauli. Action is going on to be in this direction.


DMCH's super specialty building in Darbhanga will be ready by 31 March 


The Deputy Chief Minister said that the construction of a super specialty building is going on in Darbhanga. The agency selected by the central government has so far completed 87.4 per cent physical and 75.89 per cent financial work. By March 31, the agency has said to take over the building. In response to Ghanshyam Thakur's question, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the work of Covid vaccination is going on at the ground floor of DMCH. Radiology and chemotherapy are being done on the first floor. After the construction of the building, all the works will start smoothly in it.


Grant will not be given on death due to corona virus in other states


In response to the question of Dilip Kumar Singh, the Deputy Chief Minister made it clear that grant is not to be given in case of death due to corona in other states. In this situation, the amount received from the central government, 50 thousand has to be given by the concerned state. On the question of Samastipur's doctor Dr. Pramod Kumar not being retired after being selected in MD, said that it will be investigated. Action will be taken against the culprits.
