Latest Updated 15/03/2023: Girl students who have passed graduation from IGNOU Bihar Center will also get the benefit of Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana. From 1 April 2021 to 31 October 2022, 8000 girl students have passed graduation from IGNOU Bihar Center.
IGNOU's Senior Regional Director Dr. Abhilash Nayak said that the data of all 8 thousand girl students has been uploaded on NIC for the benefit of this scheme. The benefit of the scheme will be provide only to those whose Aadhaar card, bank account & residential certificate are from Bihar. You can get an amount of 50 thousand rupees from the state government by applying through the website medhasoft.bih.nic.in. The last date to avail the scheme is 15 March. 50-50 thousand rupees will be given to 937 daughters across the state for the preparation of main examination and interview of Bihar Union Public Service Commission (BPSC). Bihar Women & Child Development Corporation has prepared the list of girl students. For this, 1259 girl students who passed the preliminary examination had applied. 322 girl students were left out in the verification. The remaining 937 girl students have been finally selected. According to the Women and Child Development Corporation, a total amount of Rs 46,85,50,000 will be given by the corporation to all the girl students.
For the first time, an aid amount of Rs 50-50 thousand will be given to the girl students who have passed the BPSC preliminary examination by the Women and Child Development Corporation for further preparation. Till now only the girl students who passed the UPSC preliminary examination were given an amount of one lakh rupees by the corporation. Under this, an amount of Rs one lakh each was given to 72 girl students in 2021 and 34 girl students in 2022 for the preparation of main examination and interview. In 2021, five girl students were also finally selected in UPSC.
This assistance amount will be given only to those who are not already in any kind of aid amount or government job from the state government. If a girl student is already taking any scholarship or is a employed teacher, working in any office of Bihar government, even if she is on contract, she will not get this amount. During the verification the applications of many girl students were rejected for these reasons. At the same time, to take this amount, it is necessary to be a resident of Bihar.
