Latest Updated 24/03/2023: There will be recruitment of 551 assistant-junior engineers and one thousand gardeners in the building construction department. Minister Ashok Chaudhary announced this in the assembly on Thursday. He was replying to the government after the debate on the department's budget for the financial year 2023-24. Amidst the walkout of BJP members, the budget of 4721 crore 47 lakh was passed by voice vote.
The minister said that construction of engineering college buildings in 29 districts has been completed at a cost of Rs 2077 crore. The building of Buxar and Ara Engineering College will be ready by August this year. He said that high quality buildings are being constructed in the state. Along with this, better maintenance of buildings is also being ensured. The department is working in collaboration with IIT Patna, NIT Patna and BIT Mesra in this work. The minister said that for the first time after independence, in the last 18 years, the state has gained national and international fame by constructing ambitious and signature buildings in Bihar.
Prominent among these buildings are Samagra Ashoka Convention Centre, Bapu Auditorium, Gyan Bhawan and Civilization Gate, International Bihar Museum, International Convention Center (Rajgir), Sardar Patel Bhavan and Bihar Sadan in Dwarka, Delhi.
He said that many such schemes were started in Bihar under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, which were later followed by many states including the Central Government. The minister said that under the schemes of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department, residential schools with a capacity of 720-720 will be constructed at 28 places and residential schools with a capacity of 520-520 for the Backward and Most Backward Department at 14 places. Used to be. All the buildings are being made earthquake proof.
Recovery of 246 crores in illegal sand transportation The Mines and Geology Minister said in the assembly that 246 crore 54 lakhs have been recovered in illegal sand mining and transportation. Wherever complaints of illegal mining and transportation are received, prompt action is taken against the concerned. For this, a task force has been constituted under the chairmanship of the District Magistrates. Along with this, its non-monitoring and action is continuous at the level of the department. On the occasion, Transport Minister Sheela Kumari said that special arrangements are being made for the safety of women, especially during the journey, including providing better transport service to the people. Vehicle location system and panic button have been made mandatory in transport services vehicles.

2320 crore for Patna Metro
Continuous monitoring is being done by the Urban Development and Housing Department to speed up the construction work of Patna Metro. 2320 crore has been made available for the work so far. In this, 1670 crore has been given by the State Government and 650 crore by the Government of India. The budget of 5664 crores for the financial year 2023-24 of the Town and Housing Department was passed in the Assembly.
