Triple the seats in Patna NIT College latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 06/02/2023: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that NIT Patna should be developed in such a way that it becomes the largest and most capable institute in the country. Presently this institute has a capacity of 4500 students. Develop nine thousand more additional capacity in this so that more and more students can study engineering from here.
The Chief Minister, who attended the alumni meet organized by BCE-NIT Patna Alumni Society on Sunday as the chief guest, said that the more NIT grows, the better it will be. As long as I live, I will not be able to forget it. Due to my own efforts it got NIT status. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a minister at the Center in the government, there was talk of making the engineering colleges of the country NITs. Patna University has not got the status of Central University till date. Efforts were made to at least get Bihar Engineering College the status of NIT. The central team that came to inspect was also messing up. But when it intervened, it got approval from the Union Cabinet in 2004. Now 125 acres of land has been given in Bihta for NIT.
Therefore, it should be developed with an additional capacity of nine thousand so that more and more students can study in NIT. Efforts should be made by NIT in this direction. The Chief Minister said that even at the state government level, engineering colleges have been opened in every district. Earlier, many children used to go outside Bihar to study. Now studying in Bihar itself. Along with engineering, work was also done for medical. PMCH is being made the world's largest capacity hospital (5400 beds). Referring to the work done for women, the CM said that reservation was given in government jobs. One-third reservation was given for women in engineering and medical also.
