Multipurpose, seminars, examination halls and smart classes will be made

Latest Updated 26/02/2023: State-of-the-art facilities will be available to the students in the colleges and universities of the state. For this, the infrastructure will be further improved there. The state government has started work on a 150 crore plan for this. Under this, 57 schemes of 38 colleges and universities have been approved. An amount of 25 crores has also been released as immediate grant-in-aid. With this, construction work will start in 14 universities and colleges. Further expansion of the scheme will take place.


Apart from all the major universities and colleges of the state, IIM Bodh Gaya is also included in this scheme. Along with basic facilities, state-of-the-art facilities will also be developed here. These include big constructions like Multipurpose Hall, Seminar Hall, Examination Hall-Hall, Science Block, CCTV, Smart Class, Hostel, Girls Hostel. There is also a plan to construct ring road at many places in this scheme. Apart from this, there is also a plan to build boundary wall and take furniture. For the first time, schemes on such a wide scale have been taken together.

Information was also given to the Accountant General


Sanjay Kumar, Joint Secretary, Education Department has also informed the Accountant General about the construction works and allocation of funds. It has also been told that the responsibility of the implementation of these schemes rests with the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation.


Plans approved to develop facilities in 38 colleges as well


256 crore plan was prepared


In fact, the state government had prepared a plan of 256 crores to further improve the infrastructure in universities and colleges. Work on this also started, but due to Corona, the work of most of the projects got suspended. Work on a large number of schemes could not even start properly. Work had to be stopped midway at many places. After this, on the instructions of the Finance Department, an amount of about 150 crores had to be returned. But, now the education department has again started working on these schemes in an integrated manner.
