Bihar Police Recruitment 2023: 67000 new posts will be recruited soon latest news update
Latest Updated 09/02/2023: The state government has expedited the process of filling vacant police posts. The Home Department on Wednesday issued a resolution related to the creation of 67,000 new posts in the Police Department. About Rs 4 thousand 182 crore 28 lakh will be spent in filling these posts in a year. Bihar Police has set a target of meeting the requirement of 2.56 lakh policemen by the year 2026. Under this, the exercise has been started.
Out of these 67 thousand posts, direct recruitment will be done on 48 thousand 447 posts. In the direct appointment posts, 20 thousand 937 posts will be of sub-inspector and its equivalent. 5500 posts of constable driver and 22 thousand 10 posts of constable are included. To implement the second phase of Emergency Response Support System (Dial-112), 19 thousand 288 posts will be filled.

It has already been approved at the state cabinet level. For Dial-112, 259 posts of Inspector, 1829 of Inspector, 1218 of Jamadar, 2943 of Havaldar, 694 of Driver Havaldar, 2353 of Driver Constable and 9992 of Constable will be filled. According to the estimate of the Director General of the Center, the population of Bihar will reach about 13 crore 22 lakh 65 thousand by 2026. On the basis of this population, 2 lakh 56 thousand 528 police personnel will be required in the state. The national average of police personnel per lakh population by January 2021 is 194. Whereas in Bihar this average is 117. Presently the number of sanctioned posts in Bihar Police is one lakh 52 thousand 274. Efforts are being made to increase this.
