Latest Updated 05/01/2023: On Wednesday, the candidates came on the road demanding the cancellation of all the stages of the BSSC third graduate level examination. During this, some agitating candidates manhandled the magistrate. Some broke the barricades. The police tried to explain. When the candidates did not agree, the police lathicharged them. After this there was a stampede.
The police chased the applicants for more than a hundred meters. Dozens of applicants have been injured due to lathicharge. In these, Sadanand, Akash, Ravi, Parveen, Amit, Dilip, Manish Yadav etc. have suffered serious injuries. They were treated in Gardnibagh and private hospitals.
An FIR has been registered against 1000 unknown agitators including five students named in the movement. Kotwali police station in-charge Sanjeev Kumar said that the agitating candidates had a scuffle with the magistrate. Indecent behavior too. Patna Sadar Magistrate Aditya Vikram has registered an FIR naming agitating candidates Anoop Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Sonu Kumar, Chandramouli Kumar & Purushottam. Here, after the caning, the agitated applicants sat on a dharna near the Gandhi statue at Gandhi Maidan for more than five hours. The students had to go from Patna University to Musallahpur Haat, Kargil Chowk via Bakarganj, JP Golambar via Gandhi Maidan, but the students did not follow the route set by the police and started going to Dak Bungalow via Exhibition Road.
