59 courses of NOU got recognition from UGC latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 05/01/2023: The University Grants Commission has granted recognition to the only Nalanda Open University in the state for the next session. This time UGC has given permission to run 59 courses. Its letter has been received by the university. The recognition of the university was expiring in this session itself. There was concern about this. If UGC did not give recognition for enrollment in the new session, then 25 to 30 thousand students would have been deprived of enrollment.
Expected to get permission for B.Ed course in the university soon
A letter was sent by the university to the UGC for the session. Vice Chancellor Prof. KC Sinha said that UGC has given permission to run 59 courses. Apart from this, permission has not been granted to run B.Ed courses. It is expected that B.Ed course will also be allowed soon.
On the other hand, in five regular universities of the state, distance education has stopped for the last three years. According to the new rule of NAAC, only A grade universities can provide education through distance education. No university in the state has got A grade from NAAC. Because of this, studies in Patna University's DDE are closed. This is the reason why the number of students enrolling in IGNOU is continuously increasing. This time about 75 thousand nominations have been done.
Register up to seven to attend the convocation
The 15th convocation of NOU will be held on 11 January at the Samrat Ashok Convention Center in Bapu Auditorium. To participate in the program, students can now register themselves by 7 January at www. no. acc. in. Earlier the last date was 4 January. In this, degree and gold medal will be awarded to successful students in PG, PG Diploma and graduate examinations of Annual Examination 2020 and Annual Examination 2021.
