Latest Updated 27/12/2022: The Bihar Staff Selection Commission has canceled the examination of the first shift of the third graduate level preliminary examination held on 23 December for the posts including secretariat assistant late on Monday night. The Commission has taken this step due to the leak of question papers of the first shift. However, the examination of the remaining shifts has not been cancelled. This information was provide by the Secretary of the Commission, Sunil Kumar. Also told that the canceled exam of first shift will be taken within 45 days. About three lakh students appeared in the first shift.
On Monday, after the revelations on the EOU paper leak during the day, the commission announced the cancellation of the exam. Let us tell you that the preliminary exam paper went viral during the exam itself. On the same day, the Commission handed over the investigation of the entire matter to the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU). The Economic Offenses Wing arrested the mastermind of the case from Supaul after registering on its FIR. From where the paper leaked, it was also disclosed. After the question paper was leaked, continuous demonstrations were also being conduct by the candidates demanding its cancellation. The Commission has informed in its order that the Third Graduate Level Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination was conducted in two phases on 23 December and in one phase on 24 December at 528 examination centers in 38 districts of the state. In the investigation, it was found that during the first phase examination on 23 December, some pages of question papers were circulated on WhatsApp, after matching which it was found that these questions are related to the first shift examination. It was also known about the center from where the question paper pages came out.

A few hours before the commission's decision to cancel the exam, EOU's ADG (Headquarters) Jitendra Singh Gangwar gave information about the leak in a press conference. Said that so far four accused have been arrested in the case. These include Ajay Kumar & his brother Vijay Kumar, the main accused in the paper leak from Shanti Niketan Jubilee School Examination Center in Motihari. Out of the 4 solvers that Vijay had sent to solve the question paper, one has been arrested. Soon all the solvers will be arrested. He said that the case was just a limited attempt at cheating, which was planned by Ajay and Vijay together. In the investigation so far, the involvement of any racket has not come to the fore. By the way, the whole situation will be clear after the investigation.

The EOU said that the most helpful in speeding up the scrutiny is the hi-tech coding system done on the question papers. Due to this new coding system, the question paper went viral as soon as it was known that it was distributed in which room of the center.
