Latest Updated 27/12/2022: In the new year 2023, there will be a large number of appointments in the police department. This will increase the strength of Bihar Police force. 67 thousand 735 new recruitments are going to take place on various posts. There will be recruitment on 48 thousand 447 posts from DSP to Constable. 19 thousand 288 personnel will be appointed to strengthen ERSS (Emergency Response Support System) i.e. Dial-112. In Dial-112, 7 thousand 808 personnel will be recruited in police and non-police cadre. In the new year, there will be a special focus on making the police department more empowered. Its purpose is to reduce the police-public ratio. Apart from this, special initiative will also be taken to implement Dial-112 in a more effective manner to provide all kinds of help including police, ambulance and other assistance to the common people in the shortest possible time in case of any trouble or emergency. For this, apart from the restoration of adequate number of personnel, it is also proposed to buy 800 new vehicles. Due to this, in case of any incident, the police will be able to reach the concerned place in 20 minutes.

The police department is going to set up one women's help desk in each police station to provide all possible help to the women victims of any case. Presently it is running in 400 police stations as an experiment, but in the next two months it will be restored in all 1072 police stations of the state. This will help a lot in providing all possible help to the women. Apart from this, special focus will be given on training of police personnel. A big strategy has also been prepared for giving proper training to the personnel to be reinstated in large numbers. For this too, extensive preparation will be done at the department level.
