Latest Updated On 07/11/2022: Patients from Dhanbad and its adjoining districts will no longer need to come to RIMS, Ranchi for specialist treatment. In Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH), nine departments of super specialty are being established for specialist medicine. The Health Department has started the process of appointment of specialist doctors for this.
The super specialty departments include Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology (Medical), Gastroenterology (Surgical), Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Burn Unit. A total of 12 professors and associate professors will be appointed on contract in all these super specialty departments. 1-1 Professor in all departments, while 1-1 Associate Professor will be appointed in Nephrology, Neurology and Gastroenterology (Medical). Under Secretary of Health Department Virendra Kumar Ram has issued guidelines in this regard.

Selection will be done on the basis of walk in interview
The qualification and experience prescribed by NMC will be applicable for appointment on contract to the post of Professor and Assistant Professor. All the doctors will be selected on the basis of walk in interview. Interview will be held on 16th November at Administrative Building of RIMS, Ranchi. The maximum age limit for the contractual appointment of medical teachers is 70 years.
