UPSSSC Recruitment 2022: 3000 Gram Panchayat Secretary will be recruited soon latest news update
Latest Updated On 01/10/2022: 3 thousand posts of vacant Panchayat Secretary in the Gram Panchayats of the state will soon be recruited. On behalf of the Panchayati Raj Department of the state, a requisition has been sent in this regard to the Uttar Pradesh State Subordinate Selection Commission (UPSSSC) for the recruitment of 1500 vacant posts.
This information has been provide by Panchayati Raj Director Anuj Jha. He expressed hope that the commission will soon release the advertisement for the recruitment of these vacant posts. He informed that there are a total of 8100 posts available of Panchayat Secretary in the state. In these, 3000 posts are lying vacant for a long time.
- 300 posts will be filled in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities
- There are more than 58 thousand gram panchayat in the UP.

If the Rural Development Officers are included, the total no. of such officers handling the work of Panchayat Secretary is about 17000, whereas there are more than 58000 Gram Panchayats in the state.
In this way, despite the recruitment of 3 thousand vacant posts, each Panchayat Secretary will have the responsibility of 4 to 5 Gram Panchayats. According to the Director of Panchayati Raj, the work of the Panchayat Secretary is done on the cluster & it is natural that a Panchayat Secretary has to look after the work of many Gram Panchayats.
