Latest Updated On 02/10/2022: A total of 593 teacher candidates finally selected for appointment in the secondary-higher secondary schools of the state have been stopped by the state government. This prohibition has been imposed by the districts in view of the notification issued by the department on September 26 regarding compliance of the order of Patna High Court.
On September 28, these candidates were to get appointment letters by the Zilla Parishad planning units of 37 districts including Saran, but now their future will be decided only after the Patna High Court order in Rakesh Kumar Vs State Government and others.

Only 2716 teachers could be appointed against 32714 posts across the state from the first merit list for the recruitment of high school-plus two teachers of the sixth phase running from July 2019. 29998 posts remained vacant. In view of this, the Education Department issued the schedule of distribution of appointment letters to all the Zilla Parishad planning units on September 28, completing the process of final selection of eligible candidates. Under this, where appointment letters were distributed in 36 districts on the same date, the Education Department got the report of distribution of appointment letters on October 1 after intensive investigation due to the matter of reinstatement on fake certificates in Saran.
It is known that the process of application is going on in Patna Zilla Parishad right now. According to the information received from the Education Department, only 36 teachers got appointment letters in 37 districts from the second merit list. Of these, the number of teachers of higher secondary schools is only four, while 32 teachers have been reinstated in high schools. Saran Zilla Parishad alone appointed 17 high school teachers.
550 selected waiting for appointment letter in Bhojpur
About 90 percent of the 593 selected candidates whose appointment letters have been withheld in compliance with the court's order are from Bhojpur district alone. In view of the departmental order dated September 26, the panel building committee has not approved the list itself. Bhojpur Ara has 122 of Hindi, 9 of Physical Education, 45 of Mathematics, 51 of Urdu, 88 of Sanskrit, 63 of Science, 10 of Social Science, while in Plustu 33 of Political Science, 4 of History, 7 of Geography and Economics. Appointment letters of candidates have been withheld for 4 posts.
