Latest Updated On 01/09/2022: Class IV employees of the Forest Department will get the benefit of sixth grade pay from the year 2006. The High Court on Wednesday dismissed the special appeal of the state government. Right now this benefit is being available since 2011. The matter was heard by a division bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice RC Khulbe.
Earlier, the single bench had ordered the state government to give the benefit of sixth grade pay to class IV employees from 1 January 2006. But the government filed a special appeal against the order of the single bench. According to the case, the Class IV Forest Employees Union had filed a petition in 2019 saying that the government is giving them the benefit of sixth grade pay since 2011. It had also said that there were four grade-pays of class IV employees, which were merged by the central government in 2008 to 1800. The state government implemented it from 24 March 2011. This was challenged in the court by the employees. The court had earlier set aside the order of the government and ordered to give this benefit to class IV employees from 1 January 2006.

About one thousand employees will get benefit
The decision of the High Court will benefit about one thousand class IV employees of the Forest Department. A large number of employees have also retired, they will also be given arrears in this case from 2006. Diwan Singh Negi, President of Class IV Employees Organization, who has recently retired from the Forest Department, said that in this case, the High Court has already ordered to give the benefit of grade pay scale since 2006, but the government had filed a review petition on this but the High Court has again given the decision in favor of the employees, due to which the employees are quite satisfied.
