Latest Updated On 25/09/2022: Ranchi Police on Saturday sent Patna High Court Section Officer Abhishek Kumar to jail in connection with the question paper leak of Jharkhand State Staff Selection Commission's Junior Engineer Appointment Examination. The accused Abhishek was arrested by the Namkum police station in Bihar Patna on Thursday itself. He was taken on a 3-day transit remand.


Ranchi Senior SP Kaushal Kishore said that Abhishek's arrest was made on the behest of Ranjit Mandal & Deepak Kumar, who were arrested earlier. Abhishek was caught talking to the officials of JSSC's exam organizing company Binsys Technology Pvt Ltd on a mobile phone & being in touch with them.

The recruitment exam was held on 3 July this year. The exam question paper was leaked just before the exam. After investigation, the police registered an FIR on 14 July. In the past, the arrested Ranjit Mandal & Deepak Kumar have been sent to jail by the police. According to Ranchi Police, Abhishek, who was sent to jail, is one of the prominent people of the conducted core group.


He used to provide question papers of competitive examinations by taking large amount from the examinees. Many strong proofs of this have already been handed over to the Ranchi Police in the course of investigation. According to the police, now Abhishek Kumar will be taken on remand for further questioning.

According to Ranchi Rural SP Naushad Alam, JSSC had lodged an FIR on 14 July at Namkum police station after receiving the news of the leak of the question paper of Junior Engineer recruitment examination. Commission chairman Sudhir Tripathi had also requested the Jharkhand DGP to take prompt action in this matter. After this Jharkhand DGP had constituted a team under the leadership of DSP Neeraj Kumar. This team had arrested Ranjit Mandal from Keonjhar on 23 July 2022. After the arrest, Ranjit Mandal had disclosed the names of so many people.
