BDS Course Time Duration by DCI Live News Updates: Now, it will be of 5 and half years latest news update 2022
Latest Updated On 04/09/2022: Now, there will be a change in the BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgeon) syllabus. The time duration of the course will be increased from five years to five & a half years. This information was provide by Dr. D Majumdar which is President of Dental Council of India (DCI).

He was addressing a dental show organized by the Indian Dental Association on Saturday. DCI President Dr. D. Majumdar said that the duration of BDS course will be made at par with MBBS. Presently the course is of four years. One year internship is required. Now BDS will be taught for four and a half years. There will be one year internship. At the same time, semester system will be implemented in BDS also. Now students have to take the exam once in a year. Like MBBS, the exam will be held every six months.
