Latest Updated On 14/09/2022: The Jharkhand High Court has directed the government to appoint the chairman and members of the Jharkhand Education Tribunal (JET) in three months. Justice Anand Sen, while hearing a petition on Tuesday, said that due to non-appointment of Jet chairman, the problems of teachers of private and government schools have increased. The burden of litigation on the High Court has also increased.


The court has issued notices to Jamshedpur's Tata School and XLRI. During the hearing, it was found that even after the order of the court, no reply has been filed by the government. After this, the court ordered the education secretary to appear immediately.

High Court said that due to absence of Jet President, the problem of teachers has increased, Education Secretary summoned, Secretary gave undertaking to make appointment


After the education secretary arrived, the court started hearing the matter again. The court asked why the chairman was not being appointed in Jet. This is causing problems for the teachers. On this, Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan told the court that he should be given two months time to appoint the chairman. On this, the court said that you are being given three months' time. During this period, appoint the chairman and members of Jet and make the tribunal run completely. Its undertaking was also given to the court by the secretary.


Suman Singh has filed a petition in the High Court

Suman Singh has filed a petition in the High Court in this regard. Advocate Shadab bin Haq submitted that the petitioner was a sports teacher in Tata's Christian School. In the year 2019, he was suspended and talked about departmental action. Even after three years they are not being given any allowance. The matter is not being heard as JET does not have a chairman. Therefore a petition has been filed in the Jharkhand High Court.
