Latest Updated On 02/07/2022: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a big decision to overcome the shortage of para-medical staff in government and private medical colleges of the state. Under this, joint entrance examination of B.Sc Nursing will be conducted for the first time in the state. About 8 thousand students will get admission in government & private B.Sc Nursing colleges of the state. The last date of application for this has been kept as 15 July 2022. Candidates have to apply on the link available on KGMU website www.kgmu.org & Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University website www.abvmuup.edu.in. It is possible that the examination will be organized in the last week of July.
Nursing & paramedics were ignored since independence till 2017. Due to this there is a shortage of qualified nursing and para medics staff in govt medical colleges. There are 35 government medical colleges in the state & 30 medical colleges in the private sector. There is a shortage of para medical staff in the medical colleges especially nurses. A large no. of nursing staff in the state come from Kerala & Karnataka.

- 1900 seats of B.Sc Nursing in Government Medical College
Grading will also be done in private B.Sc Nursing Colleges
1. Grading of private B.Sc Nursing Colleges like NAAC
2. Help to increase quality will be taken from John Hopkins University (JHU).
3. A, B, C category of private B.Sc Nursing Colleges that meet the standard will be decided
4. Students of B.Sc Bio with Inter Biology will be capable to apply.
5. Till 2017 only 1 institute was opened in Kanpur in 1972 in the state.
6. In the year 2013, 3 districts Agra, Jhansi & Meerut were approved.
7. Apart from Meerut, no any college could be operated.
