Latest Updated On 05/05/2022: Doranda College is going to offer Japanese language option from this academic session for the students who want to learn foreign languages. Under this, students enrolled in any course will be able to study it as an add-on course along with their regular course. It has been approved by the Academic Council of the college, which has been sent to Ranchi University for approval.
This course is being supported by Tamai Onetam India Private Limited. This is the same institution, in collaboration with which the Japanese language course is being run in Ranchi University under the Department of Foreign Languages.
Principal of the college Dr BP Verma told that initially it will be made available to the students enrolled in various courses of the college. However, if students from professional or other educational institutions also want to learn Japanese, then this option will be provided to them. There are about 10,000 students studying in Doranda College, who are being given the opportunity to speak Japanese. To enroll in this, it is mandatory to have passed at least 12th from any stream.

26,000 will be able to learn Japanese: Doranda College will offer one year course in Japanese language at N-5 and N-4 level. This course will be conducted online, in which enrollment will be taken on 60 seats. At the same time, 30 seats will be available in offline mode. The fee for an N-5 level course, the duration of which will be less than six months, will be around Rs 10,000. This will be a foundation course. Whereas, the N-5 and N-4 level will be a one-year course, the fee for which will be around Rs 26,000.
Dr. BP Verma, Pracharya: There is a provision of dual degree in new education. Also, there is no restriction of faculty. Taking initiative in this direction, Japanese language education is being started. This will develop the skills of the students.
