Bihar Police Recruitment 2022 for ASI & Havaldar posts through Promotional Training Course (PTC) & Senior Leadership Course (SLC) latest news update
Latest Updated On 09/05/2022: This is the last chance for the soldiers who missed to become ASI and Havaldar. The schedule for the final training of Promotional Training Course (PTC) & Senior Leadership Course (SLC) for Matric and Non-Matric constables reinstated till 2003 has been released. The constables who were appointed in Bihar Police approx. 18 years ago will not get the chance of promotion again under the old system after this.
The training of PTC & SLC is to be provided to 802 constables. This also includes the 440 non-matriculated constables who have to fulfill the Senior Leadership Course. The first promotion of a non-matric constable is to Havildar & for this it is compulsory to pass the training of SLC. Simultaneously, the promotional training course has to be done by the constables who have been appointed to the post of constable after passing the matriculation. 362 constables have to participate the final training of PTC training.

Brainstorming on promotion
Before 2004, the recruitment of constable in Bihar Police was done on both matriculation & non-matric basis. Later it was made compulsory to pass matriculation (10th). At present, the recruitment of constables is done on the basis of inter (12th) pass. Havaldars with non-matriculation & ASI with matriculation pass are to be made. Since the constables appointed after 2004 are either matriculated or 12th-passed, all will be ASI if they are promoted under the old rule. With this the post of Havaldar will be abolished. Simultaneously, if everyone is promoted to Havaldar then there is not as much rank as there should be. This is the reason that the Police Headquarters & Home Department are still brainstorming on it.
Training will start from 1st June 2022
Alok Raj, DG Training: The schedule for the final training of PTC and SLC has been released by the Human Resource Development and Training Division. Both the training will be conduct at CTS Nathnagar. It will start from 1st June. The training is of 180 days. This special course of six weeks has been kept for the soldiers who could not pass the previous training.
This is the last training of PTC/SLC for promotion of constables recruited before 2004. In this, all such soldiers have been called who did not participate the training or had failed.
