Latest Updated On 14/05/2022: In the case of written examination of Almora-Pithoragarh BRO recruitment rally for the year 2020, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has assured action to the state's Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi. Along with this, he has also asked for action in the matter of opening an army recruitment rally and extending the lease of Gorkha Military Inter College, Dehradun.
Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi on Friday met the Defense Minister in Delhi and raised these issues. He told that in 2020, the Almora-Pithoragarh Branch Recruitment Office (BRO) of the Army had conducted a recruitment rally. Youth from Almora, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, USnagar and Champawat participated in this. The youth who have passed physical examination and medical in this rally are waiting for the date of written examination to be announced since then. The Directorate of Recruitment has not yet decided the schedule of the written examination. This is causing disappointed among the youth.

Uttarakhand's Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi met Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Friday and raised the issues of the state
Joshi told the Defense Minister that in April 1927, the lease was granted to Gorkha Military Inter College, Doon by the Military Department (Defence Estates) for 90 years. It is the only school in the area to provide co-education for children from families with poor economic ability. It does not have any other source of income of its own. The school has requested to re-allot the lease to Military Office Estate, Defense Estates Officer, Meerut Cantt for 90 years. Joshi requested action in the matter. Joshi said that the Defense Minister has given instructions to the officers to take action in both the cases.
