Latest update on 13/03/2022: The way has been cleared for direct appointment of eunuchs in Bihar Police. The General Administration Department has issued a resolution to include transgenders or transgenders in the Backward Classes Schedule (2). Under this, there will be a direct appointment of one transgender for every 500 posts in the upcoming appointments of constable or inspector. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary. Officials of Home and General Administration Department were also present in the meeting.

In the upcoming phases of recruitment, 51 eunuchs can be directly appointed in the police service. 41 for constable and 10 for transgender or transgender will get a chance. In each of the 500 slots, one transgender will be appointed against the roster point of the Backward Classes. If eligible transgender is not found, it will be filled from the general candidate of backward class category. It has been recommended after the meeting. Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department cum General Administration Department Chaitanya Prasad, Home Secretary K Senthil Kumar, Additional Secretary General Administration Department Mahendra Kumar and Joint Secretary of Home Department Special Branch Animesh Pandey were present in the meeting.
