Latest Updated 23/07/2024: The CBI remand period of six accused including five MBBS students arrested in the NEET paper leak case has been extended till 5 August.


The CBI has already conducted the first round of interrogation by taking them on remand. Along with this, the special court has also extended the judicial custody period of 20 accused lodged in Beur Jail in the NEET paper leak case till 5 August. On completion of the remand period on Monday, the CBI produced AIIMS students Chandan Kumar, Kumar Shanu, Rahul Anand, Karan Jain and RIMS medical student Surabhi Kumari of Ranchi, besides Surendra Sharma before Special Judicial Magistrate Dhananjay Pandey.

On the request of the agency, the court extended the remand period of all of them for four days. All five medical students were in the role of solvers. Pankaj's close aide Vijendra Sharma played an important role in the paper leak.

Arrested student fainted, treated in hospital


Patna AIIMS student Rahul Anand, arrested in the NEET paper leak case, fell ill during CBI interrogation on Monday. He fainted. The CBI admitted him to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Haddi Hospital. After about an hour of treatment, his condition became normal and he was discharged.
