Health department formed a committee to determine the curriculum
Latest Updated 04/07/2024: Now all types of doctors will be appointed in the state on the basis of competitive examination. The Health Department has formed an expert committee to decide the syllabus of the doctor recruitment competitive examination.
7 member committee consists of experts
The seven-member committee will study the syllabus set for the recruitment of doctors in different states. After studying and reviewing the syllabus set for the appointment of specialist, general and dental doctors under the Central and other state governments, the committee will recommend to the department to determine the syllabus. At present, doctors were being appointed in the state on the basis of academic marks and interview.
- Total marks will be 100, out of which 60 will be for written exam, 15 for interview and 25 for experience
The expert committee headed by the Special Secretary of the Department Shashank Shekhar Sinha includes Additional Secretary Shailesh Kumar, Director General (Nursing) Dr. Sunil Kumar Jha, Additional Director Health Services Dr. Vireshwar Prasad, Principal of Nalanda Medical College, Principal of PMCH and Principal of Patna Dental College. It is more likely that the selection process of doctors will be completed through the Technical Service Commission. The total marks of the examination will be 100. In this, 60 marks are set for written, 15 marks for interview and 25 marks for work experience.
45% of the posts of doctors are vacant in Bihar
Appointments are to be made on various posts including general physician, dentist in the health department. The vacancy will be sent to the commission after the clear guidelines of the General Administration Department on the matter of increasing the reservation quota on the basis of caste based calculation. Currently, about 45% of the total sanctioned posts of doctors in the state are vacant.
These people will get the benefit of work experience The benefit of work experience will be given to those doctors who have served on contract basis in Bihar Government, Centre, Municipal Corporation, Panchayati Raj institutions, other public institutions, Military Hospital. 25 marks will be given for maximum 5 years of work experience on the basis of 5 marks per year. The marks of a candidate for obtaining marks will be determined by multiplying the percentage of total marks obtained in the said competitive examination by a factor of 0.6. For example, if a candidate obtains 50 marks in the written examination, then he will be given 30 marks on multiplying 50 by 0.6. Qualifying marks will be 30.
