Latest Updated 21/07/2024: The merit list in basic teacher recruitment is expected to be released in the first week of August. Basic Education Director Ramkrishna Uniyal said on Saturday that the process is moving a little forward due to the increase in the application period. The merit list will be made public and objections will be sought on it. If objections come, they will be heard and the merit will also be revised if necessary.
According to Uniyal, efforts are being made to complete this process as soon as possible and make appointments by counseling by the end of August. The Basic Education Department has been making appointments on more than 2900 vacant posts in government schools for a long time. Some time ago, on the orders of the High Court, the application period was extended from 5 July to 20 July. The Education Department has received about 25 thousand applications for these 2900 posts. Uniyal said that the application period ended on Saturday. Now the work of preparing the merit list will be started by sorting out the applications at the district level.

Counselling will be held on the same day in the entire state: Minister
Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has given instructions to conduct the counselling process in basic teacher recruitment on a single day in the state. The minister told 'Hindustan' that earlier every district used to conduct counselling on different dates. This wasted time. Secondly, many candidates used to apply in more than one district. After this, they used to participate in counselling in different districts. In such a situation, technically the posts remain vacant in the districts due to these applicants.
