Live Updates: neet pg entrance exam 2024 postponed
Latest Updated 23/06/2024: Amid the NEET UG paper leak controversy, the NEET-PG entrance exam scheduled to be held on Sunday was also postponed on Saturday night. The Union Health Ministry said that it has taken this step as a precautionary measure in view of the recent allegations on the integrity of some competitive examinations. The new date will be announced very soon.

Meanwhile, the central government took a big action and also removed Subodh Kumar Singh, Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Pradeep Singh Kharola has been appointed as a new DG. This decision has been taken in the best interest of the students & to maintain the sanctity of the examination process.

The Ministry of Health has decided to conduct a thorough assessment of the robustness of the processes of the NEET-PG entrance examination conducted by the NTA for medical students. Accordingly, as a precautionary measure, it has been decided to postpone the NEET-PG entrance examination to be held on June 23, 2024, the ministry said. The Health Ministry has regretted the inconvenience caused to the students.
He said, this decision has been taken in the best interest of the students and to maintain the sanctity of the examination process.
On the other hand, Pradeep Singh Kharola, CMD of India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), has been given additional charge of Director General of NTA till regular appointment is made. Kharola is a retired IAS officer of 1985 batch of Karnataka cadre. A senior official said, NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh has been kept on compulsory waiting in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) till further orders.
It is known that the government has canceled the National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET), while there are allegations of paper leak in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) as well and there is a demand to cancel it.
