Latest Updated 28/06/2024: The CBI, which is investigating the NEET paper leak case, arrested Manish Prakash and Ashutosh Kumar on Thursday. After registering an FIR, the CBI has arrested an accused from Bihar for the first time. The CBI had sent a notice to Manish Prakash and Ashutosh Kumar and called them to its office in Patna for questioning. Both were arrested after a long interrogation. Their mobile phones have also been seized. After the arrest, both the accused were produced in the CBI special court in Patna. CBI Special Judicial Magistrate Harshvardhan Singh took both of them in judicial custody and sent them to Beur Jail for 14 days.
The CBI had requested the special court to give Manish and Ashutosh on police remand for questioning. At the same time, the court handed over the seized mobile to the officials for investigation on the request of the CBI. The CBI has informed Manish's wife and Ashutosh's family about the arrest by calling them. Manish and Ashutosh both are from Bhoothakhar of Nursarai, the village of Sanjeev Mukhiya. When the CBI team went to Sanjeev's village on Wednesday, they also took information from the family members of both.
