Latest Updated 09/06/2024: 2578 Shiksha Sevaks will be recruited in Bihar including 81 in Nalanda. Public Education Director Anil Kumar has sent a letter to all DMs. He has requested to complete the recruitment process of Shiksha Sevaks in June itself. 54 Shiksha Sevaks are to be appointed in Utthan Kendras of Nalanda district and 27 Shiksha Sevaks in Talimi Markaz centers, 1465 Shiksha Sevaks in Utthan Kendras of the state and 1113 Shiksha Sevaks in Talimi Markaz centers. 448 Shiksha Sevaks are working in Utthan Kendra of Nalanda district and 101 Shiksha Sevaks in Talimi Markaz centers. Whereas, 18 thousand 467 Shiksha Sevaks are already posted in all the Utthan Kendras of the state and 8 thousand 58 Shiksha Sevaks in Talimi Markaz centers.
In the letter sent to the DM, the director has said that under the Mahadalit, Dalit and Minority, Extremely Backward Class Akshar Anchal Yojana, the process of selection of Shiksha Sevaks for the vacant posts of Shiksha Sevaks in Utthan Kendras and Talimi Markaz Kendras in the districts was started. In many districts, Shiksha Sevaks were selected and trained as well. But, due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha elections, the process of selection of Shiksha Sevaks could not be completed in many districts. On the orders of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, orders have been given to start the selection process against the vacant posts immediately after the end of the election code of conduct.

Teaching in Akshar Anchal Yojana
Under the Mahadalit, Dalit and Minority, Extremely Backward Class Akshar Anchal Yojana, there is a provision to provide one or two hours of pre-school coaching to 25 children in Dalit colonies. After this, the responsibility of sending these children to school has also been given to the Shiksha Sevaks. Also, the responsibility of making 20 illiterate women literate by giving them one hour of coaching has also been given to the Shiksha Sevaks.
The list of survey of Mahadalit and Dalit colonies has been sought from the BDO. The BDOs of 10 blocks have not sent the list. Due to this, the vacancy could not be maintained.
