Latest Updated 24/06/2024: The mob attacked the CBI team of Delhi which reached Rajauli in Nawada for raid in the UGC NET scam case. The CBI officer and a woman constable were manhandled and abused. The driver of the CBI vehicle was seriously injured in the attack. The car was also damaged.
The incident took place at 3:50 pm on Saturday afternoon. The CBI team was returning after raiding a house in Kasiyadih Tola of Murhena village in Rajauli and seizing two mobiles and some documents. Meanwhile, a furious mob of 200-300 villagers attacked the team thinking it to be a fake CBI team. Later, the Rajauli police reached the spot and controlled the situation and arrested four people including a girl. The injured driver Sanjay Soni is from Danapur. Meanwhile, the administration said that the CBI had not informed the local police about its arrival.
The CBI team had reached Rajauli in the UGC NET case. The villagers beat them up thinking they were fake. An FIR has been lodged in this case and four people have been arrested.
