Only professors of government colleges have been given a chance in this. Teachers working in affiliated colleges have said that professors of affiliated colleges have not been given a chance to apply. Former candidate of Tirhut Teachers' Constituency and Assistant Professor of Veerchand Patel Memorial College, Desari, Dr. Abhay Nath Singh said that only Associate Professors and Professors can apply for this, not Assistant Professors. Assistant Professors are appointed in affiliated colleges and retire on the same post. There is no provision for promotion for them.

They do all the work like academic work, copy evaluation etc. Teachers of affiliated colleges are working on the posts of Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations etc. in the university. People are doing PhD under their guidance. There are 225 affiliated colleges in Bihar. There is a lot of resentment among the teachers due to not being made candidates for appointment to the post of Principal.
