Latest Updated 20/06/2024: Senior resident doctors will be posted in government medical college hospitals of the state. A panel of 825 senior residents is being prepared in various subjects. They will be posted in medical college hospitals for three years.
- Panel is getting ready for deployment in 11 departments
After doing senior residency, these doctors will become eligible for assistant professor in medical college hospitals. The health department is now preparing a panel on the basis of merit. The departments in which the posts of senior resident are vacant include 71 in Anatomy Department, 77 in Microbiology Department, 70 in Physiology Department, 71 in Radiotherapy Department, 127 in Anesthesia Department, 68 in Biochemistry Department, 58 in ENT Department, 77 in Forensic Medicine Department, 64 in PMR Department, 69 in Skin and Venereology Department and 73 in TB and Chest Department.
The process of filling the posts of senior resident has also been determined. In this, 40 per cent of the posts will be filled by the members of Bihar Health Services Cadre, while the remaining 40 per cent of the posts will be filled by those who have completed PG degree courses (under Senior Residency Scheme) from the medical college hospitals of the state.
