Latest Updated 14/06/2024: There will be recruitment on 330 different posts in the state's soil testing laboratories. There are 207 posts of Assistant Research Officer. There are 75 posts of Laboratory Assistant, 26 posts of Assistant Director (Chemistry) and 22 posts of Clerk. Agriculture Minister Mangal Pandey directed the officials to make recruitment on these posts soon.

On Thursday, the minister reviewed the Soil Health and Fertility Scheme with the state headquarters officer, 72 state level soil testing laboratory personnel at Krishi Bhawan Mithapur. The minister said that technical personnel will be recruited to run the mobile soil testing laboratory of 9 divisions of the state smoothly, so that the soil samples can be tested on time. He directed to make a cadre for the clerks of the entire Agriculture Department and make rules within 15 days.
The minister said that a route chart should be set in advance for the mobile soil testing laboratory, so that the farmers can know when the mobile soil testing laboratory will come to their village. This will facilitate the farmers. He asked the personnel of the village level soil testing laboratory to test the soil on time and upload it on the portal. Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal said that a provision of Rs 15 crore has been made for the Soil Health Scheme this year. A target of 5 lakh soil sample testing has been set. So far, 4 lakh 17 thousand 275 soil testing samples have been collected.
Agriculture Director Mukesh Kumar Lal, MD of Bihar State Seed Corporation Ashutosh Kumar Verma, Horticulture Director Abhishek Kumar, Additional Secretary Shailendra Kumar, Joint Secretary Madan Kumar, Manoj Kumar, OSD Sunil Kumar, Additional Director (Crops) Dhananjaypati Tripathi, Joint Director (Chemistry), Soil Testing Laboratory Vinay Kumar Pandey and Assistant Directors (Chemistry), Soil Testing of all the districts were present in the meeting.
