Latest Updated 23/05/2024: Wednesday was a historic day for Dhanbad Medical College. National Medical Commission (NMC) has given permission to start PG studies here. Nomination has been allowed for six seats for PG in an important department like Medicine.
There is a possibility of getting 16 seats in three more subjects. Enrollment will start here this year in session 2024-25. Let us tell you that Dhanbad Medical College management was trying for years to start PG studies. This year, a total of 33 seats in seven subjects were applied to NMC, out of which nomination has been allowed for six seats in Medicine. Permission is expected to be given in two to three days for three disciplines: Gynecology and Obstetrics Department (five seats), Orthopedics Department (four seats) and General Surgery (seven seats). Only last year MBBS seats were increased from 50 to 100. Now PG studies will start here and expert doctors will be prepared.

Students who pass the NEET PG examination to be held in June will be enrolled in PG here. According to doctors, patients along with MBBS students will also get the benefit of PG. There will be an increase in specialist doctors and medical resources here. However, PG permission was not given in three subjects Pathology, Biochemistry and Anesthesia. NMC has rejected the applications for these subjects. Permission was sought for five seats in Pathology, two in Biochemistry and four in Anesthesia.
