43% posts of nurses are vacant in bihar latest news update 2024
Latest Updated 14/05/2024: About 43 percent of nurse posts are vacant in government hospitals of the state. There are total 47 thousand 183 sanctioned posts of A Grade and ANM. Presently there are 27 thousand 13 employed. There are 17314 sanctioned posts of A Grade Nurse, out of which 9668 are employed. That means 7646 posts of A Grade Nurse are vacant. Out of 29869 sanctioned posts of ANM, 17345 are employed. 12524 posts are vacant.

- 205 out of 871 posts in Bhagalpur and 94 out of 822 posts in Muzaffarpur are vacant.

Out of 29 thousand 869 regular ANMs, the maximum sanctioned post is 2110 in Patna district. The number of ANMs currently working here is 1133. That means 977 posts are vacant. There are 1045 vacancies in 1654 sanctioned posts in Gaya. In Sheikhpura, out of 256 sanctioned posts, 73 remain vacant. The total sanctioned posts of ANM in Muzaffarpur are 822. There are currently 728 employees and 94 vacant posts. There are 442 vacancies out of 1016 sanctioned posts in Madhubani. In Bhagalpur, out of 871 sanctioned posts, 205 posts are vacant. 10709 ANM reinstatement pending: The matter of appointment of 10709 ANM is pending for two years. Restoration on these posts will take place only after the judicial process is completed. The recruitment process of 10709 ANMs started in 2022. Advertisement was issued on 28 July 2022, in which the selection process was done on the basis of ANM Rules 2018. According to this, the candidates were to be selected through Bihar Technical Service Commission on the basis of marks obtained, but Bihar Technical Service Commission changed the earlier advertisement on 19 September 2023 and made a provision to appear in the examination. This very change was challenged in the court by the candidates.
