Latest Updated 15/05/2024: Two courses each at Masters and Diploma level will be started in Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University from this session. Telecommunication center will be established. So that deaf and mute children living in remote villages can be provided free treatment. This plan has been prepared by the Department of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology under the leadership of Dean Professor VK Singh for the next one, three and five years. Which Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Singh was handed over on Tuesday.
Sushant Gupta, Assistant Professor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, said that MSc in Audiology and MSc in Speech Language Pathology courses will be started at PG level from the academic session 2024-25. Whereas Diploma and PG Diploma courses of one year each will also be started. He informed that Post Graduate Diploma in Auditory Verbal Therapy and Diploma in Hearing and Ear Mold are also being started. Applications for this will start after getting recognition from the Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi. Sushant Gupta says that in 1 year the Speech Language Pathology Lab will also be equipped with the advanced equipment.

Deaf and mute children will get treatment sitting at home
Assistant Professor Mansi Doshi told that a telecommunication center is going to be started in the university. With this, free treatment facilities will be provided to deaf and mute children living in remote villages. Will provide free speech therapy and testing to correct language defects and hearing impaired children. He says that the university has adopted about five villages. It will be started from these villages only.
Will give grant for research
According to Assistant Professor Sushant Gupta, the department has planned to establish a Research and Development Center in the next five years.
