Latest Updated 05/04/2024: The second phase of JEE Main examination for admission in engineering colleges of the country started on Thursday. On the first day, students got confused in Mathematics and Physics subjects. The papers in both the subjects were a bit difficult.


In the first innings on the first day, many questions were asked in Physics from Modern-Physics, Current-Electricity and Heat and Thermodynamics. Apart from this, questions were asked on root mean square value from alternating current, semiconductor, diode and resistance, find the equivalent resistance of a combined circuit and graph from heat and thermodynamics.

Similarly, the paper in Chemistry remained normal. In Physical Chemistry, general questions related to Electro Chemistry and solutions were asked. In Inorganic Chemistry, questions were asked from chemical-bonding, coordination compounds. Questions also remained of general level. According to the students, relatively more questions were asked from Inorganic Chemistry. Whereas the mathematics paper has traditionally been difficult. Questions were asked from all parts of Vector-3D, Calculus, Algebra and Coordinator Geometry. Most of the students appeared for the Mathematics paper at the last moment and missed many questions. More than 11 lakh students have registered for the April session.


More than 2 lakh students have appeared for the exam in two shifts on the very first day. The examination is to be held in 11 shifts till April 12. In this, BE B.Tech examination will be held in 10 shifts on 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th April. BARC exam will be held in one shift on 12th April.
