The applicant's lawyers argued on the issue of regional language. On behalf of the applicant, senior advocate Gopal Shankar Narayan and advocate Amritansh Vats presented their case in the Supreme Court. Advocates told that JETT candidates have knowledge of regional languages of Jharkhand, Santhali, Khortha etc. Because they have tested it. But, CTET candidates must have knowledge of Hindi or English as the regional language. When CTET teachers are appointed in the primary schools of Jharkhand, they will face difficulty in imparting education to the children in the language of Jharkhand. This would also be a violation of the right to education. Jharkhand High Court has no authority to take decisions in such policy matters. This right lies only with the Parliament.

There was also an instruction to pass the exam in three years. Jharkhand High Court had also said in its order that if CTET candidates are appointed, they will have to pass the JETET exam in the first attempt within three years. If Jharkhand Government does not conduct JETT examination for three years, then this condition will not be applicable on the candidates. Candidates will be given three months time to prepare for the Assistant Professor exam.

Here, on Friday, a hearing was held in Jharkhand High Court on the petition filed regarding depriving para teachers (assistant teachers) from the appointment of assistant professor. After the hearing, the court has sought answers from the state government, NCTE, JSSC and JAC.

6800 constables get relief from High Court

The High Court on Friday rejected the petitions challenging the Constable Appointment Rules-2014 of the Jharkhand Government. This has provided relief to 6800 constables of the state. The court of Acting Chief Justice S Chandrashekhar and Justice Arun Kumar Rai, while rejecting the petitions, said that the government has the right to make appointment rules and amend them. The appointments made under the rules are valid. With this direction, the court rejected all the petitions challenging the rules. Let us tell you that 65 petitions were filed against the rules. After completing the hearing on the petition on March 15, the court had reserved its decision.

  • Supreme Court gave instructions to Jharkhand government and JSSC
  • The matter is pending regarding the inclusion of CTET people from other states including CTET.
