Latest Updated 12/04/2024: The then Chairman of the Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) cum former DGP SK Singhal has been questioned in the paper leak case of constable recruitment examination.


To investigate this matter, the SIT team formed at the level of EOU (Economic Offenses Unit) went to the official residence of the former DGP on Bailey Road, Patna and interrogated him. The team led by the SP asked him questions related to many aspects for about an hour. Efforts were made at many levels to obtain information regarding the reasons for the paper leak and the possibilities related to its leak. During interrogation, the former DGP answered all the questions with complete ease and cooperated with the investigating officers in every way. Being the Chairman of the Selection Board, information was collected about whether there was any lapse on his part or how the paper was leaked despite it being such a confidential matter.

The investigation team also collected information about the entire process from the printing of the paper to its arrival and distribution. On October 1, 2023, an examination was held for reinstatement on more than 21 thousand posts of constables in the state. Its question paper went viral just before the exam beganed. To investigate this entire matter, a 22-member SIT (Special Investigation Team) was formed on 31 October 2023 under the leadership of EOU DIG Manavjeet Singh Dhillon. This team is investigating many type of things related to this matter. In this case, many sensitive information has already reached to the investigation team.


A large number of computers and laptops were seized


After the matter was exposed, the state government had removed the then president SK Singhal from the post. After this, on March 7, 2024, the old office of the Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) near the new and old secretariat located at Harding Road, Patna was searched. During this period, a large number of computers, laptops and other documents were seized. Many things came to light in their investigation.
