Latest Updated 13/04/2024: 840 new virtual classes will be created in secondary schools of the state. Whereas new smart classes will be prepared in more than 500 schools. Under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the Central Government approved proposals to equip the education system in the state with state-of-the-art equipment. With the creation of the new class, the number of virtual classes in the state will increase to 1340 and the number of smart classes will increase to more than three thousand.
APD-SSA Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati said that under SSA, the Central Government has approved a budget plan of more than Rs 1230 crore for the year 2024-25. Under this, the budget has been approved for developing basic facilities like new classrooms, boundary walls, toilets in schools. Proposals for construction of virtual and smart classes have also been approved. Dr. Sati said that the proposal for construction of three new residential hostels in the state and construction of a new building for Nabha House Hostel in Rishikesh has also been approved. Their construction work will be started soon.
134 crore rupees for fees of private schools also approved
The Central Government also approved Rs 134 crore for the fees of students studying in private schools under RTE quota in the state. At present, more than 90 thousand students are studying from pre-primary to eighth class under RTE quota in the state.
