Latest Updated 22/03/2024: The State Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has recruited a record 6635 posts in the last two and a half years, whereas in the last 22 years the Commission has been able to provide jobs to only 6869 youth in the state. However, there are still 8099 vacancies in the officer rank due to which unemployed youth are waiting to become officers.


Paper leak was revealed in three recruitments of State Public Service Commission in the year 2022-23. Some officers of the Commission were also found involved in this matter, due to which UKPSC recruitments were halted for some time.


Despite this, the Commission has made record recruitments during the first and second terms of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami government. Two years of the second term of the Dhami government are going to be completed on 23 March.

Whereas earlier the State Public Service Commission was able to conduct only eight to ten recruitment examinations in a year, in the two and a half year period of Chief Minister Dhami, it was successful in conducting 28 to 30 examinations.


To prevent cheating in competitive examinations, the Dhami government has brought strict anti-cheating laws, which has also brought transparency in the examinations.


In this, along with the provision of punishment up to 10 years, the government also has the right to confiscate the property acquired through copying. It is known that after this, Modi government had also passed a strict anti-copying law for competitive examinations in the Lok Sabha on the lines of Dhami government.


According to the report of the Finance Department for the year 2024, 8099 posts of Group A and B are vacant in various departments of the state.


Of these, there are 3413 posts of Group A and 4686 posts of Group B. The government has decided to conduct recruitment on these posts in a phased manner.


In 22 years the Commission was able to provide jobs to only 6869 youth

The Commission has set a target of making about five thousand recruitments in various departments by the month of May. According to Commission Secretary Girdhari Rawat, the recruitment proposals received from various departments are being examined.
