Latest Updated 21/02/2024: All the technical assistants working on contract in the Panchayati Raj Department will now be considered equivalent to junior engineers. Panchayati Raj Department has given recognition to technical assistants working on contract as equivalent to junior engineers. In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department, Mihir Kumar Singh has sent a letter to the Water Resources Department.
It has been said in the letter that after the consent of the General Administration Department, he has been considered equivalent to Junior Engineer. Actually, the minimum educational qualification for selection to the post of Technical Assistant is Diploma in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic. 2096 posts of Technical Assistants were created in the Panchayati Raj Department through the resolution dated 25 July 2018 in the department. Panchayati Raj Department has the power to give technical approval up to Rs 20 lakh to the technical assistant.
