Latest Updated 12/02/2024: Specialist doctors in government hospitals of Uttarakhand will be able to provide services on contract till the age of 70 years.
After retirement from government service in the state, specialist doctors are appointed on contract basis. But till now the maximum age for that was fixed at 65 years. Recently the government has decided to increase the retirement age of specialist doctors from 60 to 65 years. Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that in view of this, the age for posting doctors on contract is also being increased.
- New rules are being made for posting of contract doctors in hospitals
For this, a proposal is being prepared by the Health Department. In which specialist doctors on contract will get a chance to work for five years after retirement i.e. for 70 years.
