Burglary in UPPRPB Recruitment Exam, 93 people arrested latest news update 2024

Latest Updated 19/02/2024: Large scale crackdown continued on the second and last day of the written examination conducted by Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board for recruitment to 60244 posts of constable. On Sunday, 93 people were arrested for trying to crack the exam.


  • More than 287 have been arrested so far


A total of 287 people have been arrested so far in the campaign launched by the district police and STF since February 15 with the aim of conducting cheating-free examinations. These include examinees & solvers, members of the solver gang & the gang that leaked the paper.

DGP Prashant Kumar has said that the examination was organized in a peaceful & clean environment on both days and in all 4 shifts at all 2385 centers in the state. Senior police and administration officials were continuously touring all the districts. Around 48 lakh candidates appeared in the examination on both the days.


On Sunday, nine people were arrested from Shikohabad police station area of Firozabad. STF arrested 3 people from Prayagraj and 3 from Ballia. Whereas in Purvanchal, 41 criminals were arrested. Many of them are associated with gangs that get papers out and make them cheat, while some are caught appearing for exams in place of others. Eight are accused of spreading rumours. 16 arrests have been made in Ballia, 17 in Ghazipur, six in Mau and two in Varanasi. Even on Saturday, 41 people were caught in the Purvanchal. On Sunday, police arrested one solver each in Kanpur & Chitrakoot.


Three solvers and two candidates were caught in Gorakhpur-Basti division for the second day on Sunday. In Sant Kabir Nagar, 2 solvers were caught appearing for the exam in place of the other. One of them is from Munger district of Bihar, while the other is a girl from Sant Kabirnagar. She had come to take the exam in place of her sister. Whereas in Siddharthnagar, a solver was caught in the 1st shift in Siddharth College, Birdpur. He was a resident of Bihar and was appearing for the exam in place of a candidate from Deoria.

Dharmendra of Mahoba had the admit card in Sunny Leone's name


In the police recruitment examination, the admit card bearing the photo of actress Sunny Leone turned out to be that of a candidate named Dharmendra from Kulpahar. Dharmendra told the police that he had applied from the computer café of Mahoba. Did not go to appear for the exam because of Sunny Leone's photo in the admit card. ASP Satyam said, investigation is being conducted.
