Latest Updated 14/02/2024: The state government has made a provision of Rs 16323.83 crore for the Home Department in the budget presented for the new financial year 2024-25. This is 5.86 percent of the total budget amount. However, 15468.55 crore rupees will be spent on the establishment of the Home Department. This year, policemen are going to be appointed to 67735 posts under the Home Department.


There is a provision of 674 crore rupees in the budget presented by the Excise, Prohibition & Registration Department. There is also discussion of establishment of 74 special courts. The annual target of the Registration Department was set at Rs 5500 crore for the year 2022-23, in which 119 percent more revenue of Rs 6583 crore was collected.

The budget of the Home Department is Rs 16 thousand 323 crore, Rs 855 crore is allocated in the scheme and Rs 15,468 crore is allocated in the head of establishment and committed expenditure.

● Rs 20 crore approved for crime and criminal tracking network and system.

● 16 crores released for 34 additional prison cells in 16 prisons for the renovation of jails.

● A total provision of Rs 674 crore has been made in the budget including Rs 10 crore and Rs 664 crore under establishment and committed expenditure head.

● 84 prohibition police stations have been established in the state. 74 special courts have been established to execute the cases registered in them.

● From April 2016 to November 2023, 7 lakh 9 thousand 406 cases related to liquor prohibition were registered. 10 lakh 55 thousand 348 people were arrested in this
