Latest Updated 01/12/2023: Supplementary results will be released for 4700 posts in the first phase teacher appointment examination conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The Education Department has provide the details of these 4700 posts to BPSC. A meeting of the Commission & departmental officials was also held on Thursday regarding this. It is expected that the Commission will publish the supplementary results shortly.
08 lakh candidates had appeared in the first phase examination
According to information received from the department, 4700 posts have been vacant from the applicants who have passed more than one level of examination. That is, they have been declared successful in all 3 levels of primary, secondary & higher secondary examinations, or have been successful in any 2 of them. All the applicants who have been successful in 2 or all 3 levels of examination have submitted their contribution at one place as per rules. In such a condition other posts will be vacant. This is the reason why about 4700 posts remain vacant due to such applicants. These include posts at all 3 levels, primary, secondary and higher secondary.

It is known that in the first phase, advertisement was issued by the Commission for one lakh 70 thousand 463 posts. About eight lakh candidates had appeared in the examination. After the examination, one lakh 20 thousand 336 teacher candidates were declared successful. Those applicants who are higher in the merit list will be successful in the supplementary result. After the publication of the supplementary result, 4700 candidates who are top in the merit list in the order of vacant posts of each subject will get a chance to become teachers in the current phase of recruitment.
Other vacant posts will be included in the third phase of recruitment
The Commission has included those posts in the second phase for which teacher candidates were less in the first phase of recruitment. There are around 40 thousand such posts. At the same time, among the successful candidates, there are 28800 who are employed. When such teachers contribute at new place, their old posts will become vacant. The department will take information about these posts from the districts later. After this these posts will be added in the third phase recruitment examination. There are more than ten thousand successful candidates who have not received the provisional appointment letter. These posts will also be included in the 3rd phase. At present, the contribution work of the selected teachers will continue till 7 December. Only after that it will be clear how many teachers have contributed out of 1 lakh 20 thousand 336 selected.
