Latest Updated 01/12/2023: The Department of School Education and Literacy has made changes in the matriculation and intermediate examinations to be held in 2024 and 2025. Matriculation and Intermediate examinations will no longer have separate OMR sheets & answer sheets. These examinations will be organized only on answer sheets. Students will also have to write the answers to objective questions on the answer sheet only. The state govt has reduced the marks & number of questions of objective questions asked in Matriculation & Intermediate, while the marks and the number of questions of subjective questions are being increased.
In the Matric-Inter examination of 2024, there will be objective questions of 30% marks, while questions of 50% marks will be short and long answer type. The remaining 20% marks will be provide for internal assessment. Simultaneously, in the 2025 exam, there will be objective questions of 20 percent marks & subjective questions of 60% marks will be asked. There will be internal assessment of 20% marks. Education Secretary K. Ravi Kumar has given instructions to the Jharkhand Academic Council for this. By 2022 & 2023, objective questions of 40-40% marks were asked in the matriculation and intermediate examinations, while subjective examinations of 40-40% marks were held. Simultaneously, there was an internal assessment of 20 marks. In the Matric-Inter examinations of 2024, there will be a reduction of 10 marks in the objective questions and an increase of 10 marks in subjective questions as compared to 2023. At the same time, in 2025 also objective questions will be reduced by 10 marks, while subjective questions will be increased by 10 marks. The state govt has taken this decision on the lines of CBSE.

JAC will release model question paper on new pattern
Education Secretary has instructed JAC to make changes
- Objective questions will be of 30 marks in 2024 and 20 marks in 2025.
- Written examination will be of 50 marks in 2024 and 60 marks in 2025.
Changes have been made in the Matric-Inter examination. Now, the examination will not be organized on OMR sheet. In 2024, there will be objective questions of 30 marks and subjective questions of 50 marks. In 2025, there will be objective questions of 20 marks & subjective questions of 60 marks.
JAC will release the model question paper & its answers based on the changes in the exam pattern. Model question papers will be released from next month. With this, students will get information about the examination method. They will be able to prepare based on the increase in number of questions in the subjective. JACK has already released the exam schedule. Matriculation and intermediate examinations are scheduled from 6th to 26th February. JAC will release the revised exam calendar. Different timings for OMR sheets & the answer sheets in both the shifts will be rescheduled.
